I can do nothing for them
I can do nothing for them
I can do nothing for them
I can do nothing for them
I can do nothing for them
I can do nothing for them
And I, I cannot help them
The worn and weary
People that fall at my feet
And beg for relief from their
Burdens
And beg for sleep
Not I.
The uninspired and dispassionate
People that stand all around me
And grapple for a
Soul
And see with nothing but their eyes
Not I
The weak and gullible
People that follow anyone at all
And don’t know how to use their own
Mind
And never make a choice for themselves
Not I
The poor and desolate
People that lay in the shadows
And no longer remember the meaning of
Hope
And idly wait for a self-lighting candle
Not I
The blind and ignorant
People that stumble behind me
And shut their own eyes to true
Freedom
And stroke their own egos in solitude
Not I
The heartless and uncaring
People who turn away in coldness
And try to hide their
Tears
And think that life is full without love
Not I
Because I am not one of them.
