Cedric was walking calmly around the various dancing people at the
beach party. Well, I say beach party but it was more a dock party. He
was bored out of his mind and just walking around doing nothing was
even less exciting. Noticing a girl struggling against one of the many
pillars that held the dock up, he walked over to inspect. An obviously
drunk man was making the moves on her and she definatly did not like
it. But as soon as Cedric got over she was gone.
“Freeze and put your hands on your head. You have the right to remain
silent. Everything you say can and will be turned against you in a matter
of court and law. Officer Lady here and I will now read you your rights.
Hell, you ain’t got none.”
Cedric turned and saw the girl holding up an FBI card and pointing a gun
at the man.
“Watch out!” Cedric yelled as another man behind her pointed a gun at
her back. Without even turning around she said, “I don’t think so
buddy.” She just held up her hand and the gun flew into it. That was
when Cedric noticed everyone was actually frozen. Not as in scared stiff
but as in not even the ocean waves were lapping the shore.
The girl, Officer Lady, let go of her gun and id; both vanished into thin
air. She brought her hands together as if she was going to clap and the
two frozen men clumped together. Then they too disappeared. Three
more girls came running up, a little older than the first.
“Lady, how do you always beat us here?” one asked. Lady disappeared
and reappeared behind Cedric.
“That’s how. Now what have we here?” Lady walked around Cedric,
eyeing him up and down. All of a sudden Cedric became very scared.
Had he just seen what he thought? This girl younger than him move
people, freeze time and vanish objects.
“It’s him!” the youngest of the three newcomers squealed.
Cedric put on a questioning face, “What? Look I don’t know what’s going
on here...” Cedric trailed off. Lady snapped her fingers and all of a
sudden they were no longer on the dock but in a large white nothing.
They weren’t standing on anything or surrounded by anything. Nothing.
“Did you kill me and this is heaven or something?” Cedric asked, looking
around for something but finding nothing. Big shocker, huh?
Lady burst out laughing and started trying to talk but instead just let out
hiccups from laughing so hard.
“Thank you for your imput Lei,” the middle smiled and then turned to a
large picture that had just appeared of the Earth. Lady pointed to the
picture and a large picture of herself sat on top of the Earth.
“I don’t think so,” the oldest scolded Lady and the picture immediatly
disappeared. “I’m Rahja. That there is Piper, Katja and that little brat is
Lady,” the oldest went from oldest to youngest.
“And what am I doing here?” Cedric asked as he took a seat in a chair
that had appeared out of nowhere.
“Because we’ve been looking for you,” Piper explained.
“You see,” Katja said, “Lady there is like the most powerful creature on
earth.” Cedric gave Lady an are-you-serious look.
“I’m not going to even try and explain,” Lady rolled her eyes and walked
off somewhere. Or would it be nowhere? Anyway.
“You see, if she ever went bad we’d have to kill her as soon as possible
because she could destroy the world in a second,” Piper told him. Cedric
leaned back in his chair. Like he would honestly believe this. A big
macaw parrot perched on his shoulder.
“You don’t believe us,” it said. Instantly the bird was gone and there
stood Lady.
Rahja eyed Lady and continued, “But everybody has their weaknesses.
Unfortunatly we don’t know Lady’s.”
Piper picked up where she left off, “You somehow know and accessed her
weakness. She froze time and it didn’t effect you.”
“So I’m like stronger than her or something?” Cedric asked completely
confused.
“Dream on,” Lady laughed and started to play with something in her
hands.
“But I don’t know her weakness,” Cedric insisted. What in the world
were they talking about? Powers?
“You don’t have to know how to spell a word to use it,” Katja added.
“So you want me to figure out what her weakness is? This is crazy! You
people aren’t even real! You don’t have powers!” Cedric yelled and stood
up to walk away.
Lady stood in front of him, “You leave and it means the death of me. Or
worse. I’m not going to let some other creature control my mind
because you’re too stubborn to listen and agree.” He knew she had no
power over him but he could feel her bright blue eyes glaring into his.
“Okay, fine. I’ll help. What do I do?” he threw his hands up in
surrender. Lady snapped her fingers and they were in an old two story
house.
“Welcome to your new home. We’ll show you your room. Come on,”
Rahja led the way upstairs. Lady stayed downstairs and watched them
walk away. Cedric looked at her for a second and then followed.
“You are right here,” Katja pointed into a room. “Our rooms are all down
this hall. Bathroom is at the very end, kitchen is downstairs.
Goodnight,” and with that all three went into their rooms.
Cedric just stood there and sighed. What was he doing? Staying at
some weirdos’ house to help them find their little sister or whatever’s
weakness. He remembered Lady downstairs and went down.
“Hey,” he plopped down beside her on the couch. “Hi,” she didn’t look
up. “Look, I’m sorry if you hate me or something. But it’s not my fault I
got dragged into this whole thing,” Cedric leaned back.
Lady looked up at him, “I don’t want to be in this either.”
This seemed to break the ice and Cedric asked, “What were you playing
with in your hands earlier?”
“Hold your hands up like this,” Lady instructed and Cedric copied her
hands outstreched, palms flat, facing up. Lady layed her hands face up
ontop of his and two little people appeared. One was obviously Lady, her
brown hair quite evident and one Cedric recognized to be himself. Little
Lady was walking around on their hands while Little Cedric just stood
there.
“Why isn’t my person moving?” he asked.
Lady giggled, “Duh. You have to make him. Imagine him doing what
you want him to.”
Cedric pictured Little Cedric in his mind and sure enough, whatever he
did is what Cedric was imagining. Little Cedric walked up to Little Lady
and asked her to dance. Little Lady accepted and the two swirled around
between many other dancing pairs that Lady made appear.
“My big sisters trample me a lot so I do this when they do,” Lady
explained. She pulled her hands away and the people disappeared.
“What else can you do?” Cedric asked curiously.
“A lot. I like doing things with holographs best because you can make
your own people up but I can do this.” A life size Cedric made out of fire
looked down at them. The fire Cedric then turned to water, ice, light and
finally air.
“This is amazing,” astonished Cedric said as little fire works appeared all
around them.
“I can also read minds and talk telepathicly,” Cedric heard in his head.
He looked at her, “You can read minds?” She wiped her hair out of her
face and replied, “I can but I don’t like to.”
“Why not?” Cedric asked.
Lady gave a sad sort of laugh, “Honestly. If everyone hated you would
you really want to know what they thought about you?” Cedric shook his
head and then smiled.
“Okay, read my mind then. I don’t believe you,” He swiped at his hair.
Lady bit her lip as if this was a hard desicion and then gave in. She held
her hands up to his temple and began searching with her eyes closed.
There it was, ‘I don’t think Lady is as bad or rude as she seemed. Even
kinda pretty.’ She let her hands drop and smiled at Cedric. “Well? Did
you find it?” He could tell by her smile that she had.
“No guy, or girl thankfully, has ever even thought that about me,” she
smiled.
“Okay, five questions instead of twenty since it’s getting late. What did
you mean by that last comment?” Lady pulled her knees up to her chest
and thought of how to explain it.
“I’m fifteen, five years younger that Katja. Not many people know about
this whole power thing but I guess people can sense it and pretty much
stay away form me. Oh, this is embarassing. I’ve never had a
boyfriend, or a date, or a kiss,” she covered her face and laughed at
herself.
Cedric laughed too, “Don’t worry. My love life is pretty crappy too.”
Lady thought for a moment and then asked, “Okay, my turn. What were
you doing at that party all alone?”
Cedric answered, “Nothing else to do. My friends were all busy and
couldn’t come.” Lady nodded her sympathy. “Okay. How or when did
you find out about your powers?” asked Cedric as he put his feet up on
the coffee table.
“When I was born my Mom and Dad broke up. Rahja, Katja and Piper
went with Mom. I went with Dad. When I was about three he stared
sexually molesting me and abusing me. I noticed that I could use these
powers but I didn’t understand them. When I was ten I ran away to here
and my sisters helped me work on getting them stronger. My Mom died
when I was really little so I never met her,” she looked down sadly.
Cedric felt bad for making her draw up such sad memories. “Okay, my
turn. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?”
Lady asked.
Cedric quickly said, “I would laugh more than I have lately.”
Lady agreed, “You can’t laugh too much.”
“Okay,” Cedric started, “If you could start over. Would you still want to
have all these powers?”
Lady shook her head, “No. I hate them. They control my life! I wish I
didn’t have them!” “What are you scared of?” Lady asked.
He thought a moment and then answered trughtfully, “Being alone. You?”
Lady agreed with him, “That is my worst fear. Especially being alone in
the dark at night.” All of a sudden Lady smiled wickidly, “Okay. This is
more of a truth or dare question. And you don’t have to answer if you’re
afraid it’ll hurt your rep. Are you a virgin?”
Cedric burst out laughing and Lady quickly clamped her hand on his
mouth. They waited for any sound but heard none.
Cedric licked her hand and she wiped it in his jeans, “Gross!”
Cedric laughed quieter this time, “Yes. You?” Lady pretended to think a
moment. “No, just kidding.” Cedric laughed. “You know, we’re gonna
have to figure out what your power is,” Lady propped her feet up
alongside Cedric’s on the coffee table.
“You mean I have one?” he asked excitedly.
Lady shrugged, “The book said that everyone does, just most don’t know
about theirs.”
Cedric yawned and stood up, “Tomorrow will probably be a big day. We
should get some sleep.” Lady agreed and let him help her up. They
walked up the stairs still laughing about the bluntness of the question
Lady had asked Cedric.
“Night Cedric. See you in the morning,” Lady waved from down the dark
hall.
“Night,” Cedric replied. Once inside his room he found that somehow a
bunch of his clothes were laid out. “Must have been what Lady wandered
off to do,” he said out loud.
He just leaned against his door, thinking about what a turn his life had
taken when he heard a scream he recognized to be Lady’s. He ran out
into the hall and across to her room where he saw her sisters. They too
were running, He made it through first and was almost blinded by the
bright purple light that seemed to have a life of its own. Without even
thinking he grabbed Lady’s unconcious form out from under a large black
creature that was sending beams of the purple light to her.
“Get her to the attic!” Rahja yelled to him as the three followed close
behind. Piper held the door for him and he sat down in the middle of the
floor with Lady’s body. He layed her head in his lap and tried to wake
her up.
“Lady! Lady! Come on Lady! Wake up!” he rolled her head from side to
side. Nothing was happening. Piper sat down beside Cedric and was
trying to help wake Lady up while Katja paced the room and Rahja
looked through a giant book. “What’s wrong with her? Why won’t she
wake up?” Cedric was becoming hysterical, afraid that this girl, his friend
wouldn’t wake up at all.
“We have to shock her. Surprise her. Kiss her Cedric,” Katja ordered
from her ever moving spot around the room.
Cedric looked up in surprise, “What?”
“She likes you. Kiss her and maybe that will work,” Katja ordered and
joined Rahja behind the book.
“Where?” Cedric asked, shocked at the idea.
“I don’t care! Anywhere!” Katja yelled.
Piper muttered under her breathe, “Well well Snow White,” and went to
join her sisters looking in the book. Cedric leaned down and kissed Lady
on the forehead. She shot up and broke into tears. Just sobbing out of
control. Cedric took her in his lap and wrapped his arms around her in a
hug. Rahja, Katja and Piper leaped to Lady’s side.
“What’s wrong Lady? What happened?” Rahja asked. Lady continued to
sob into Cedric’s shirt. He looked up helplessly.
“Sssh. Sssh. We’re here. We have you,” he tried to soothe her.
She looked up at all of them, “I got into my room and that thing was
sitting on my bed. Before I could do anything he got into my head and
started killing Cedric!” Lady started bawling again.
Cedric tried to smile, “Thanks man. Kill me off.” Lady didn’t seem to
hear.
“It was this image and I couldn’t move or use any of my powers. I was
frozen. He pushed me down and started kicking me in my tummy.” She
held up her shirt. The whole thing was black and blue. All four cringed
at the sight. “Then I screamed and he scratched my back and it really
hurt. he started trying to take my powers! And I couldn’t do anything.
I couldn’t stop the image in my head.” She busted out again and Cedric
just held her tighter.
“Hey look. Her back!” Piper shrieked. Cedric looked and sure enough
there was a giant cut in the shape of a heart. He touched it and where
he touched the cut closed up.
“Oh my gosh. Do that again,” Rahja instructed. He traced the heart with
his finger and the entire thing disappeared, not leaving so much as a
mark.
“Does your back feel better?” Piper asked Lady who was still crying. She
nodded and looked up. Her eyes were full of tears and seeing her cry
almost broke Cedric’s heart.
“Try her stomach. See if you can get rid of that bruise,” Katja
suggested. Lady lifted her shirt up just enough for Cedric to lay a hand
on her stomach and sure enough, the bruise disappeared wherever he
touched.
He laughed, “Look, my handprint.” This made Lady smile and relieved
everybody.
“I know my weakness,” Lady said, still sitting in Cedric’s lap.
“Anything else hurt?” Katja asked before Lady could continue.
She shook her head and then finished, “Him.” All eyes turned to Cedric.
“What?” asked Cedric. This had to be some kind of joke.
“I mean not him as in Cedric the person. But as in a guy I like. Cause
think about it. As soon as Dad you know... my powers showed up. Once
I stopped liking him, my powers became effective. And Cedric is the
only person my powers have no effect on. It was him getting hurt that
made me freeze up.” Piper tried to hide a smile but couldn’t help it and
burst out laughing. “What?” Lady asked innocently.
Piper’s eyes started to fill up with tears from laughing, “A guy has that
effect on you? I mean I like guys too but they don’t make me lose my
powers.” Cedric looked down and noticed that Lady was squeezing his
hand. She noticed too and let go.
“Well we have a major problem here. If the bad dudes know Lady’s
weakness is Cedric...”
“Then they won’t hurt him,” Lady pointed out, “Because if he’s dead
then he cain’t be my weakness anymore.”
“And let’s face it. Lady doesn’t get many guys,” Piper teased. Lady
stuck her tongue out.
“Well Lady, you can’t go back to your room. Looks like you’re stuck up
here,” Rahja stood up and said good-night. Katja and Piper did the
same. Lady stood up and walked over to a shelf that was piled high with
pillows and blankets.
“I am such a baby,” she scolded herself as she spread one blanket out on
the floor.
“No you aren’t. I would have been in even more hysterics if that
happened to me,” Cedric contradicted.
Lady shook her head, “I’m sorry Cedric. If I hadn’t had to strut my stuff
at that stupid dock party you wouldn’t have been dragged into this.”
“Lady.”
“It’s all my fault”
“Lady”
“And I’m really sorry”
“Lady!”
“And if I can make up for it just tell me”
“L!” She was about to go on but he cupped her chin in his hand and
leaned down and kissed her.
“What was that for?” Lady asked smiling.
“Earlier you said I was a guy you liked. Well you’re a girl I like.” Lady’s
mouth opened like she was going to say something but the smile
disappeared from her face and a thin line of blood trickled down her face.
In shock Cedric yelled, “KATJA! RAHJA! PIPER! GET UP HERE NOW!”
Cedric layed Lady down on a table in front of the book and began to
touch the cut on her forehead. It disappeared but before it was gone her
leg started to bleed. The three older sister came rushing up and were
horrified.
“What happened?” Rahja ran to the book.
“I don’t know! She just started to bleed and then all these cuts and
bruises started to appear!” Katja put a pillow under Lady’s head as
Cedric frantically moved his hands from one sore spot to the next.
Luckily Lady was wearing shorts so Cedric could get to the rapidly
growing sore spots. Lady had begun to cry but it was a weak cry, like
she didn’t have the strength to shout and that only made it worse for the
four trying to help.
“I can’t do this by myself! I’m not quick enough!” Cedric yelled
frustrated. Almost as on cue three more people walked through the
door. The guy, who Piper later introduced as her boyfriend Logan, stood
across from Cedric and helped him. It seemed he had the same power
and could help.
“Do you need to rest?” Logan asked.
“No. She needs both of us,” Cedric kept at it.
“Are you sure? You can run your power dry if you are just starting out,”
one of the people, a blonde woman asked. The woman said, “I’m
Marinna and that is Rahja’s boyfriend Eric. Here comes Tony.” Tony
stood beside Logan and the three worked furiously at getting rid of the
bloody patches and bruises.
“What’s going on?” Eric asked.
“Someone is beating her up from somewhere else,” Katja cried.
“Voodoo?” Rahja suggested as she flipped through the book.
“Help us!” Piper yelled to something unseen and instantly a whole swarm
of little fairies began washing the blood off of Lady so the three guys
could see what they were doing.
Marinna hollered, “They’re about to shoot her in the neck!”
Katja ordered Cedric, “Kiss her!” Without question Cedric bent down and
planted a kiss on Lady, in the meantime covering her neck with his own.
Marinna calmed down a little.
“Why did I do that again?” asked Cedric as he placed his hand on a cut
forehead.
“Becasue they can’t hurt you or they lose their bait!” Piper yelled over
the confusion. Lady continued to squirm and cry softly which broke
everybody’s heart. Rahja’s eyes lit up.
“Cedric! Pick her up! They can’t hurt you so if you’re holding her they
can’t hurt her!” Cedric did as he was told and the blows stopped coming.
Lady continued to whimper as Tony and Logan finished off the rest of the
cuts.
Cedric sat down with Lady in his arms and slowly rocked her, “Ssh.
Sssh. You’re okay now.” Her cries quieted. Everyone sat down much
relieved.
“Oh my gosh! Lei! I thought you were a goner!” Katja hugged her sister.
The fairies continued to pick now drying blood off lady and off the three
guys’ hands. Lady relaxed in Cedric’s arms and looked around.
“Is he gone?” There were nods as Rahja sat down with the book in her
lap.
“Lei, you need to tell us exactly what happened,” Marinna draped a
blanket over her shivering body. Lady seemed sort of distant but she did
her best to answer.
“It was him. And he always said ‘I only do this because I love
you.” Cedric felt himself blacking out. He couldn’t even think about what
Lady had been saying.
“Uh, guys? I don’t feel so good,” he stuttered. Lady hopped off his lap
and caught him just as he fell backwards.
“What’s wrong?” Lady shrieked.
“He ran his power dry is all. He’ll be awake again soon,” Tony assured
her. She sat indian style and layed his head on her lap.
“Lady, who is him?” Eric asked. Lady frowned and pushed the
hair out of Cedric’s face.
“Him,” was all she said. Piper placed a comforting hand on
Lady’s arm.
“Lei, was it Dad?” All Lady could do was wipe her eyes and nod her
head.
“Yes. Dad is trying to kill me.”
1. Oh, man. Where to start, lol. I was...eleven? Maybe twelve. Around there. And it
shows :X lol.
2. Yeah, can you tell I watched Charmed every week when I
wrote this?
3. Was before I learned about a wonderful invention called “paragraphs”.
I kindly broke it down for you guys. Also some punctuation and spelling
errors.
4. I was such a hopeless romantic, rofl. And, you know, I’m not

5. I had this power craze from about age 8-11 where I’d create
characters with all these cool powers. I’ll get some more of the stories up
eventually. They’re pretty amusing.
7. This story...it’s just pretty special, rofl.
8. And what’s up with the parrot?
