CHAPTER 1

“I think that the pyramids are not only proof that there was early civilazation but they are a warning. A warning that ever 2,000 yrs. there is an ice age. Where the earth is bumped of(f) course and everyone dies from earth quakes, floods, volcano and such in the subject,” Erica, one of my classmates read from the book we were reading in history. I heard lots of yeah rights and watevers from my class.

“Jessica, your turn,” my teacher, Mr. Hollwood said. That’s me. “The only people who survive the ice age will be those worthy of themselves...” I read. More yeah rights and watevers came from the class. Little did they know the horror they were going to see.

“RIIIIIIIING!” went the bell. Everyone packed their bags to go home as Mr. Hollwood yelled over the hubub to finish the chapter and do a report on what we’ve read so far. A bunch of kids will probably show up tomorrow without a report. Well, I won’t.

“Hurry, Jess,” Alyssa called to me. We usually walk home together. Today, for some reason I had a bad feeling about going home. As soon as I got hom I knew why. There was an ambulance infront of my house. I knew what had happened. Grandma’s dead. Her heart was very poor and her heart had finally failed/

I ran inside to my room. I pounded my pillow. All of a sudden I saw something on my dresser. It was a note that said, “Warning the ice age is c(scribbles).” I didn’t know what it meant.

Mom can’t die. If she dies I’m an orphan. But as long as she doesn’t die I’m okey.

Well, let me tell you some stuff about me. I’ve had a not-so-good life. People in my family die right and left. My dad died when I was 4. Last week I turned 10. We hadn’t done much because we only have enough money for the rent, food, and cloths. Ofcourse though, we had enough to live on.

Well, mom walked in and sat beside me on my fluffy bed. She just sat there and looked at me.

“Pack a suitcare with your stuff,” she told me in a stern voice. I didn’t question her. I packed my bag with my clothes, picture, locket, blanket, travel pillow. I packed four pairs of clothing. One for each season. I had an old picture of my dad, mom, grandma and me. I had my locket, Alyssa had given it to me and said, “When the time comes, you shall fall in love waiting.” She ment I would be ready when I fell in love. The blanket and pillow were for obviouse reasons.

“I’m going to the car!” I called to my mom. No, I wasn’t. Right when I walked out of the house I was grabbed. The person (I think it was a man because of the big hands) put his hand over my mouth and covered my eyes with a bandana. As I told you, I couldn’t see anything so I didn’t know where I was going.

Next thing I could see was a dark room. The room was (or looked like it was) made out of dirt. There were three other kids and three adults or teenagers. I couldn’t tell. Two of the kids were boys. One had kind of darkish-blondish hair He was about my size. The other boy was a bit shorter than me. His hair was brown, sorta light but not real light. The girl had hair kinda like the second boy but her hair was sort of goldish on the top layer. I guessed she was about an inch shorter than me. I wondered, “What are we doing here?”

CHAPTER 2

“Okey, you are all probably wondering why yo are here. We will put you in two boy-girl groups. Se those wholes (holes) in the wall? (The wholes were in a circular shape and didn’t even look big enough for a baby.) You and your partner will crawl through those when I say too (to),” one of the big people. “The groups are Jessica and Jake, and Jenerra and Josh.”

The second big person said, “Go.”

I started forcing myself into one of the holes. Jake must have known who I was because he came right after me. All of a sudden it went black. The whole grew big enough for me to crawl through. Every once in a while I would lay my hand on something mushy. But that didn’t stop me.

“Jake?” I called out. My voice ecoed (echoed) around me.

“Yes?” I heard a voice say.

“Is it jusssst meee orr iss itt geetting coldd?” I asked. My teeth chattered as I spoke.

“Iii’mm coldd tooo-oo,” the voice said again. I remembered the Titanic movie I saw. In the movie, Jack’s teeth chattered. Here were teeth chattering owned by a boy named Jake.

1. Hm...I’d obviousy seen Titanic...I think I was about nine when I wrote this.
2. Sort of the idea behind this was a book me and my mom were reading called Fingerprints of the Gods where the guy talked about the pyramids being a warning for a coming ice.
3. I think this is pretty stupid overall, lol, but it shows...deeper thought, I guess. *shrugs*
